The Deep Dive asked for my thoughts on the latest moves by various governments to send voters money to fight inflation. If inflation is indeed at root always a monetary phenomenon, this is literally fighting inflation with inflation. It won't end well. That took us to my economic expectations, which are still for stagflation. We also touched on the uranium space, which is getting a boost from the West's sudden urge to stop burning Russian oil and gas. From there we went to global metals markets, and the vulnerability exposed there by the recent chaos on the London Metals Exchange. That took us to the various moves governments are making to avoid using the US dollar for international trade, which has huge economic and investment implications. These are critical issues facing all investors today.
