Through a Geologist’s Lens

I love geology. I don’t have a formal degree in it, but I’ve collected interesting rocks since I was a little boy. (There are deposits of past rock collections that got too large to move in Mexico, Virginia, and Washington, among other places.) Now I get to travel the world looking at rocks, and I enjoy it greatly.

But I know that not everyone gets to see the things I do. Nor do they usually have world-class geologists with them to explain what they do see the amazing things our planet does to its crust. So I’m happy to point those who share my passion for this subject—or who simply appreciate natural beauty—to my friend Greg McKelvey’s new book, Through a Geologist’s Lens.

Greg is a real geologist and an outstanding photographer. The book is full of beautiful images… and would make a great stocking stuffer for folks like us who have rocks on the brain.
